Barack Obama has declared swine flu a national emergency doing so on Friday evening.
With H1N1 swine flu becoming a national emergency this allows medical treatment facilities to handle more H1N1 patients by lessening certain standard federal requirements. This also coincides with the news that seasonal flu vaccinations have increased dramatically in the previous 2 weeks.
